Thanks to the unique properties of the material, it enables up to 3 times the weight reduction of printed parts while keeping exceptional strength, and surface quality. ApolloX Foaming is exceptionally durable and produces visually appealing prints for outdoor applications where lightweight and efficiency matter. This makes it an ideal solution for users seeking to produce technical and reliable objects.
ApolloX Foaming is based on FormFutura's proven ApolloX formula, enriched with additives that enable controlled expansion during printing. The foaming process activates at around 230°C, with the maximum effect achieved in the range of 270°C–285°C. When printed below 230°C, the material behaves like standard ASA, giving users great flexibility in tuning print settings. When fully foamed, ApolloX Foaming expands up to three times its original volume, reaching an exceptionally low density of around 0.33 g/cm³. It offers precise control over material flow, allowing users to reduce material usage by up to 66%. The degree and speed of foaming can be finely tuned by adjusting the print temperature, enabling customizable part densities. Additionally, the foaming behavior supports faster 3D printing through the use of thicker layer heights or solid single wall structures.
Our ApolloX Foaming filament enables substantial weight reduction of up to 34% compared to standard ASA, and even up to 3x in extreme foaming conditions. The matte, textured surface finish helps conceal layer lines, giving prints a clean, professional appearance. As foaming increases, the filament shade may appear lighter, adding a subtle visual indicator of material expansion. Despite its lightweight properties, the filament retains all the core benefits of ASA, including excellent UV resistance, dimensional stability, and mechanical strength. Ideal for applications where weight matters, such as RC models, drones, or lightweight functional parts. FormFutura ApolloX Foaming filament is also supplied on spools compatible with Bambu Lab 3D printers.

Strong adhesion
ApolloX Foaming is an engineering-grade material. It is recommended to use an adhesive on your build plate as a protective layer. We recommend to use EasyFix Nr. I as buildplate adhesive. For large(r) prints we recommend to 3D print in a heated chamber.
